Building a list should be your number one priority when building an Internet business. A good autoresponder will automatically build your list and automate your email follow-up at the schedule you set. It is the best way to stay in touch with your prospects and customers.

Aweber and MailChimp are some of the best-known autoresponders. So which email newsletter service is the best? Let’s look at some of their advantages and disadvantages and find out which one is best suited for your needs.

MailChimp

Benefits of MailChimp:

You can get started for free (up to 2,000 subscribers and the number of emails you can send with the free version is limited).
Easy to design a newsletter (drag and drop).
You can upgrade to a paid version as your list and mailing needs grow.

Disadvantages:

When you reach 2,000 subscribers, it’s more expensive than other most popular autoresponders.
MailChimp has restrictions about affiliate marketing and has shut down people who are using affiliate links. Read more about Mailchimp’s restrictions here.
Not as user-friendly for creating automation. Also, you can not edit automation without pausing the entire sequence.
Reporting is not as streamlined as other systems. If one person signs up for several newsletters, they are counted several times. This increases the number of subscribers faster and will get you faster to a higher-priced plan.

Benefits of aWeber

Aweber used to have the reputation of having the best delivery rate. But delivery rates change and today there are other email marketing systems that have better delivery rates.
AWeber offers excellent customer service. Support is very important – especially when you first start using an autoresponder and need help.
Aweber offers many great templates that will make your newsletter look professional. This is important to build credibility.
Aweber offers better tracking of clicks and impressions.
Aweber allows affiliate marketing.
Aweber now has a free plan for up to 500 subscribers.
Aweber’s fee for 2000+ subscribers is lower than Mailchimp’s.

Why You Need To Choose a Good Email Marketing System From the Start

If you’re serious about Internet marketing, don’t settle for a cheap autoreponder or email marketing system. It will cost you time, headaches, subscribers, and money. It is important to choose a good autoresponder service. You don’t want to change providers after you built a large list and set up a lot of automated messages. If you import your list to the new autoresponder provider, your subscribers will have to resubscribe to the new service and you’ll lose 75% of your subscribers. That’s why I recommend choosing a good email system from the beginning.

Conclusion:

Aweber is definitely way better than MailChimp for serious marketers.

MailChimp is popular because it provides a free option. Aweber didn’t use to have a free plan but now has a free plan for up to 500 subscribers. And although MailChimp is cheaper to start up with MailChimp, it will cost you more as your Internet business grows.

It’s definitely worth the small investment to get a good email marketing system if you are serious about blogging, your online business, and growing your email list.

MailChimp can help you get started if you’re on a limited budget and have limited email needs. Only go with MailChimp if your email needs are very limited and you don’t plan on growing your list.
